18)  A year ago October we were given a gift of a four year old Shih tzu dog, Jasper. This is the gift that just keeps on giving. With seemingly no effort, he injects his own generous supply of love and affection, clowning and mischievousness. When I am a little down, he understands and jumps up on my lap to give me the “I understand” look. He curls up on the bed with us and is not happy unless he is touching us. When we take him out for a walk, he must introduce us to everyone we come across. While we are content with giving just a passing hello, Jasper insists that we stop and engage in conversation.
