42) Once again this year I am providing Christmas for a family that I befriended a little over four years ago. They are an incredible family and work so hard to make ends meet and literally live and survive from pay check to pay check. The harder they work the more adversities come their way. This past July the father passed away leaving the mother and six children! The mother is well aware of what my husband and I will be doing for her and the children but she has absolutely no idea that four other families are helping us this year to make it the best Christmas ever. There will be gifts for everyone under the tree, and Santa will definitely stub his toe in their tiny, tiny living area, but best of all will be the gifts of love to be shown by rebuilding, repairing, and refurbishing most everything the family owns. They will be able to prepare their Christmas dinner on counters with tops, open cupboards with doors, cook on a working stove, bake in a working oven, and actually eat together around a table with four legs, and sit on real chairs. It will be a a Christmas to remember for this special family and a Christmas to remember for five other families giving of their time and resources to help a family in need.

39) While vacationing in NYC on a subway I felt drawn to a single mom with two kids. I struck up a conversation and felt impressed to give the lady $20 after visiting with her. The lady didn’t want to take it so I gave it to her daughter to give to the mom. The mom cried with joy.
