DAY 8     FINAL DAY


TRUST AND OBEY


We must have a complete trust in the Lord if we are going to turn our lives over to Him.
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said “If you trust the Lord and obey Him, . . . He will help you achieve the great potential He sees in you”.
Nephi showed such trust when he said ; “I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. (1Nephi 3:7)

The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. (Psalms 28:7)


What promise does the Lord give us?

For by doing these things the gates of hell shall not prevail against you; yea, and the Lord God will disperse the powers of darkness from before you, and cause the heavens to shake for your good, and his name's glory. ( D&C 21:6)


Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth . . . choose you this day whom ye will serve. . . but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:14, 15)
Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which are expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself. (2 Nephi 2:27)

Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. (2 Nephi 31:20)


Behold, this is your work, to keep my commandments, yea, with all your might, mind and strength. (D&C 11:20)

For behold, this is my work and my glory--to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. (Moses 1:39)


And, if you keep my commandments and endure to the end you shall have eternal life, which gift is the greatest of all the gifts of God. (D&C 14:7 also Matthew 24:13)



Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. (Psalms 16:1)

We believe that through the atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. (Articles of Faith 3)
